Happy Birthday to Me

Labor Day was by birthday, which was especially fun, since I was BORN on Labor Day also - yes, my mom had labor on Labor Day.  :P  It only comes around every few years, so it's kind of fun when it happens again.

Since everyone had the day off of work, we decided to take a walk/hike down Whitney Canyon again.  This is a nice path that is only about 2 minutes from our house!  Nathan's parents as well as his sister and her family all joined us.  I didn't remember to take as many pictures as I usually do on such occasions, but here are a couple.  Luke did quite a bit of walking this time, compared to our previous trips.  Unfortunately, this led to a rather nasty fall towards the end when he did a face plant in the dirt because he was going "fast".  You can see the scrape on his upper lip in the picture with me at the bottom of this post.  There's still a slight scar today - 4 weeks later.  :(  On a happier note: Luke readily agreed to wear his hat again!  It worked out nice to have had him show interest in hats the very day before we'd be out in the sun for awhile.  :)

Birthday picture with my boy!  Notice Luke's socks?  He decided to unroll them on the way home from our dinner at Chili's.  They are triple roll socks, and he had never explored all that extra material before - quite funny.  When completely unrolled and stretched, they come all the way to the bottom of his knees!  :P
